Binary Converter
Convert text to 8-bit binary code and binary back to text — full UTF-8, so every language and emoji works.
What is the Binary Converter?
Binary is the language of computers: every letter, digit and emoji is stored as groups of 8 bits — ones and zeros. This converter turns any text into its 8-bit binary form and decodes binary back into readable text.
It uses full UTF-8 encoding, so it handles far more than English: Urdu, Hindi and Arabic text, accented letters and emoji all convert correctly, byte by byte.
How to use the Binary Converter
- Type or paste your text in the Text box.
- Read the binary in the Binary box — it updates as you type.
- To decode instead, paste binary (groups of 8 bits) into the Binary box.
- Copy either side with its copy button.
Key features
- Two-way conversion as you type

- No sign-up, nothing is uploaded
Frequently asked questions
How does text become binary?
Each character is stored as bytes (UTF-8). Every byte is written as 8 binary digits — for example the letter H is 01001000 and i is 01101001, so “Hi” is 01001000 01101001.
Does it support Urdu, Hindi or emoji?
Yes. The converter uses UTF-8, the same encoding the web uses, so non-English text and emoji convert and decode correctly.
How do I decode binary?
Paste the binary into the lower box — spaces between bytes are optional — and the text appears in the upper box instantly.
Why must binary be in groups of 8?
Computers store text one byte (8 bits) at a time. A leftover group shorter than 8 bits cannot be a complete character, so the tool flags it instead of guessing.
