GPA/CGPA Calculator

Add your courses with credits and grades to get your semester GPA, then combine semesters into your CGPA.

What is the GPA/CGPA Calculator?

Want to know where your grades stand? Add each course with its credit hours and grade, and this calculator works out your GPA. Then use the separate CGPA section: type the GPA and credits of each semester to get your overall CGPA, weighted by credits so larger semesters count more.

How to use the GPA/CGPA Calculator

  1. Type the course name if you like, then its credit hours.
  2. Choose the grade — each grade carries fixed points on the standard 4.0 scale (A = 4.0, F = 0.0).
  3. Press Add course and repeat for every course.
  4. Read your GPA. For your CGPA, go to the CGPA section and press Add semester for each semester, typing its GPA and credits.

Frequently asked questions

How is GPA calculated?

Each grade is worth grade points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on). Your GPA is the sum of (points × credits) for all courses, divided by total credits — so heavier courses count more.

What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?

GPA is for one semester or term. CGPA is your overall average across all semesters, weighted by each semester's credits — the second part of this tool computes it.

Which grading scale does it use?

The standard 4.0 scale: A 4.0, A− 3.7, B+ 3.3, B 3.0, B− 2.7, C+ 2.3, C 2.0, C− 1.7, D+ 1.3, D 1.0, F 0.0.

Does my university use the same scale?

Most universities on a 4.0 system match these values, but a few differ slightly. Check your student handbook if an official figure matters.
