How is WPM calculated?
Words per minute = (correct characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes typed — the standard formula. Only characters that match the sample count toward your score.
What is a good typing speed?
Around 40 WPM is average for office work, 60+ WPM is fast, and professional typists often exceed 80 WPM. Accuracy matters as much as raw speed.
